Over the years, you discover what works on a cruising boat and what doesn’t. The Chesapeake Bay has been our cruising ground for some 25 plus years, with an occasional venture outside the bay.
Caframo Fan-Sirocco II:
The good: Unlike Hella fans, these fans are super quiet.
The bad: Unfortunately, the fan I bought quit after 11 months and was replaced by a friendly customer service agent. They paid for the return shipping of the dead fan. The replacement fan quit 11 months later and was also replaced by a friendly customer service agent. They again paid for the return shipping of the dead fan. The warranty is 24 months, so if the 2nd replacement quits, I am out the $100 cost of the fan. Hella fans are less expensive than the Sirocco, but they are noisy. On the other hand, they seem to last and last. The 2 Hella fans on the boat were with the boat when I bought it and the boat is a 1997.
